Hollywood Book Festival Awards Honorable Mention to Sniper Bid by Rick Robinson
The 2009 Hollywood Book Festival is an annual program celebrating books that deserve greater recognition from the film, television, game and multimedia communities. Based in the capital of show business, the Hollywood Book Festival aims to spotlight literature worthy of further consideration by the talent-hungry pipeline of the entertainment industry. Sniper Bid, by author Rick Robinson, earned an Honorable Mention in the category of Best General Fiction. This award comes on the heels of the 2009 Indie Book Awards naming Sniper Bid Award Winning Finalist as one of the top novels of the year. Newly released on Election Day, this is Robinson’s second award for this sequel to his award winning first novel, The Maximum Contribution. Robinson’s novels have consistently been on the top 100 best seller list on Amazon for Best Political Fiction.
Popular speaker and author Robinson said of this most recent award, “It is an honor to be recognized with these awards. Writing is a passion of mine and I love politics.”
Robinson is also on the lecture circuit and has been on book tour this year with his two novels. He recently attended Book Expo America in New York and had a book signing in the Independent Book Publisher’s Association booth while there. He will be featured at the Southern Kentucky Book Festival and Books by Banks again this year.
Robinson has thirty years experience in politics and law, including a stint on Capitol Hill as Legislative Director/Chief Counsel to then-Congressman Jim Bunning (R-KY). He ran for the United States Congress in 1998 and currently practices law in Kentucky. He is also the political writer for OneNewEngland, an e-zine about New England.
Cincy Magazine’s Felix Winternitz calls Rick Robinson, “...a John Grisham for the Tristate.”
“What makes Sniper Bid unique is that unlike most political thrillers, this one really deals with politics,” writes Austin Camacho, International Thriller Writers.
“If you have ever worked on the campaign trail or on Capitol Hill with Rick Robinson, be warned: You might see yourself and your juiciest stories in print...,” said Torey Van Oot, writer for Roll Call.
Robinson’s third novel, Manifest Destiny, is due in bookstores this fall.
